Respite care is a short-term caregiving service designed to provide temporary relief to primary caregivers, typically family members or friends, who care for individuals with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or age-related conditions.
This essential support allows caregivers to take a break from their caregiving responsibilities, preventing burnout and enabling them to recharge physically and emotionally. During respite care, a trained carer will step in to provide care, ensuring the well-being and safety of the individual in need. Respite care plays a crucial role in supporting both caregivers and care recipients.
Your respite carer can provide assistance with washing and getting dressed
Your respite carer can help with daily chores around the home such as laundry, washing up and cleaning
Your respite carer can help prepare meals and snacks of your choice
Wherever you want to go, your respite carer can help you get there safely
At Clarendon, we’ve been providing safe, compassionate and responsive respite care for over 30 years.
With our respite service, we’ll send a fully-trained care assistant to your door to provide whatever support you require, for as little or as long as you need, based on the unique care plan we’ll draw up together. This will allow your regular caregiver to get the rest they need and to return to you refreshed and recharged.
All of our fully trained respite carers will come to you with full references and a thorough DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
Respite care is received in your own home, meaning you stay near the things you love and continue living to your routines and your way of doing things.
Respite care costs are determined by the needs of the individual and will vary from family-to-family.
Respite care is charged at an hourly rate. There are no hidden costs to the care services we provide. The price you are quoted is the price you will pay.
