Home Care by Clarendon

We all know that home is where the heart is. We also know that people stay happier and more independent for longer when they choose to receive care at home rather than face the uncertainty of going into a care home. Nothing compares to being in your own home, surrounded by the people and things you love.

Our home care service is a great solution for people that want to continue living independently at home but perhaps don’t have room for a live-in carer. You’ll get to know a team of local care assistants and they’ll visit whenever required to support you in whichever way you need, whether it’s to remind you to take your medication, help you with your personal care or just to help out with everyday tasks around the house.

How does home care work?

We’ve been providing award-winning home care since 1994. With our Home Care service, a fully-trained care assistant will come to your door each day and provide you or your loved one with the support you require, based on the personalised care plan we’ll draw up together.

We’ll discuss your care needs with you or your loved one and from there we’ll design a care plan that includes a timetable of visiting care. Some people might have a visit once or twice a week while people with more complex care needs might require up to four visits a day. Visits can last anywhere from fifteen minutes up to three hours so the care is flexible too, so you’ll be able to tell us when you can manage certain tasks and when you want us to assist you.

WHO IS HOME CARE FOR?

Our fully-regulated visiting Home Care service is for anybody that wants to go on living independently at home but who needs a little extra help around the house.

It could be that somebody needs temporary support following a hospital stay or it might be that they require help managing a long-term condition like Parkinson’s.

Visiting carers often become a lifeline for those that are feeling isolated or alone. It’s hard to put a value on the effect that a friendly face at the door can have on your day, especially when you’re feeling low or like you can’t manage in the same way you used to.

While the care on offer from our expert team usually goes over and above the basics, here are the essential tasks they can help you or your loved one manage:
  • Morning routine
  • Washing
  • Dressing
  • Meal preparation
  • Personal care
  • Medication assistance
  • Hoisting
  • Housework
  • Shopping
  • Complex care (long-term health conditions or end of life care)

Who will my carer be?

The key to our success over the years has been simple. We employ the very best carers who are committed to changing people’s lives.

Following an extensive selection process, all of our care assistants are trained in-house by our fully accredited training team. All staff are reference and background checked and during their training they must demonstrate competencies in being reliable, responsive, supportive, approachable, flexible, personable and thorough.

With regular support from our staff of field supervisors and routine appraisals and spot checks, we carefully select the right candidates to ensure that we maintain the high standards we’ve become known for.

How do I arrange home care?

Give us a call so we can start finding out more about you and the level of care you require.

First, we’ll have an informal chat on the phone and then we’ll arrange to pay you a visit at home and help you start thinking about what sort of care you need and when you’d like your carers to visit.

From there we’ll work with you, your family and other healthcare professionals to create a care plan that is designed specifically to meet your needs and routines. We’ll use this document to clarify the level of support you want and to agree upon your expectations of the care we’ll provide. We think there’s too much confusing information out there about the way care is organised and paid for and because of that, we’ll always do our best to help people get the right advice and the right kind of care for them.
