It’s been nearly four years to the day that Clarendon Home and Live-in Care Care founder a Jackie Jones wrote for The Guardian about the current state of social care in Britain.

In the article Jackie writes about her own personal experience as a care worker and what has changed in the industry since she started in the mid 1980s. She also shares a few happy memories about the people she cared for, as well as a certain four-legged friend.

Everything Jackie discusses in the article is sadly more pertinent now than ever. In many ways it’s alarming to see how little has changed in the intervening years.
